Hello, I am Tobias Kargl. I have been competing in canoe slalom for over 10 years.
Canoe slalom can best be compared to alpine ski slalom, except that in canoe slalom you are not allowed to touch the poles. Originally, I come from Rosenheim, but I moved to Augsburg at the age of 17 to take advantage of the optimal training conditions in the training center at the Eiskanal.
Without nutritional supplements in form of meals and drinks, it would be nearly impossible for me to get the nutrients, proteins, and minerals I need before, during, or after a hard workout.
That is why for many years I have trusted the travellunch products. After every strength training session, for example, I have a protein drink. It provides the body with the highly concentrated protein that the muscles need to regenerate.
If I complete endurance units such as cross-country skiing, jogging or basic training in the boat that last longer than an hour, I always take a mineral drink with me. This is the only way I can
compensate for the loss of fluids and minerals. During training camps there often is a long time gap between the first and second training session, then I just have a nutrient drink.
In this way, I consume the most important nutrients immediately after the workout and reduce the feeling of hunger at the same time. In this way, I can counteract the cravings and the associated excess calories, especially when I want to reach my optimal competition weight at the peak of the season.
Since I also often go white water rafting in the Alps with friends and acquaintances and we camp there, I use the full meals from travellunch on these occasions. They are very easy to transport, quick to prepare and in addition they taste really good.
